I think that is the key point here. SatNav is only intended as a GUIDE to
navigation. It is surely meant to be used along with a slice of common
sense, and a general sense of locational awareness. If you blindly follow
the spoken directions with no reference to either the on-screen map, or the
signposts at the junctions then IMO, you are asking for trouble!.
If it tells you to take the next left, and you can see from the road ahead
that there are two very closely spaced possibilities, it only takes a brief
peek at the map, or even a look at the roadsigns to work out which one you
are supposed to be taking...

If you wait until it says turn left now and then just swing the ole wheel
without thinking or looking, youll probably just hit the crash barrier
whether there is an map-lag or not!
