I upgraded it to 7.162 using TomTomHome and have asked it to plan some
routes. While I was looking at the route details it kept telling me
Route changed. Going back to the navigation screen it kept looping
around replanning the route.

With a short route - 4 miles - it finally seems to have come out of the
loop and is now giving me the normal navigation screen. Ive just tried
it with a longer route too and it seems happier this time going straight
into the navigation.

I wondered if it was because Im in my house which is effectively
between streets so it wasnt sure where I was starting from. (I have
reception in my house which is impressive compared with my old walking
GPS from a few years back). Navigation screen didnt show the street
changing though. Maybe I should have paid attention to the route changes
it was making and looked for toggling first streets.

I had something similar after upgrading. I am located between known
streets and after the upgrade it doggedly locked on to the wrong
address. I resolved it by going out onto my road and re-booting, when
it correctly found my position and all was well

Probably the snap to road feature. if you are exactly equidistant
between two known streets then it could be snapping between the tow
triggering a recalculation at each stage.

A little annoying in the house but as soon as you get onto the road it
would not be an issue.

Thanks. Well see how it goes. It does seem quite good at getting the
position right which is impressive.

Can you not set up Home while standing in the street (well - on the
pavement for safety) then navigate from Home rather then present
location for future planning?

Ive set home to a petrol station near to home after advice from the
in case it gets nicked department. I can navigate from there to real
home easily, but anyone who finds it cant. Its address in the personal
info is my work address which would get it back to me if an honest person
finds it but a thief hoping to find an empty home will meet the security
guards. Ive also pasted that onto the bootup flash screen as its just
a bitmap in the root directory.

The work location is my desk which does get it confused. If I ask it to
navigate anywhere from work it suggests that I crash through the trees
at the edge of the car park to get onto the road.
