Just got myself brand new Road Angel Adventurer 7000 on Ebay at a bargain
price (hurray!) so now thinking about a battery pack for walking (put it in
the rucksac) as I am going to load Memory Map on to it. I believe the unit
has a 5v input. Road angel sell a pack for Ł23 but it only uses 2 x AA
batteries and I want rechargeable, possibly larger capacity such as C or D
cells. So I am thinking about building my own. Seeing as NiMH batteries are
1.2v then presumably 4 of these in series will give damned near the required
5v and no stabiliser circuit necessary? Any advice please and is it possible
to use more batteries to give a higher voltage but with some kind of
lossless volatge (DC-DC) stabiliser.

Thanks
