Google has very released version 2.0 of Google Maps for mobile, its
innovative mobile mapping and local search application. My Location
(beta) calculates a users location by measuring the distance of the
phone from nearby base stations, and this does not require GPS.. more

However, on T-Mobile it says Your current location is temporarily
unavailable with my n95... as it seeks a GPS signal. Turn GPS off
and it has no idea where I am.
