I have bought a Navman iCN 550 which Ive learnt has no update support from
Navman. I didnt pay lots for it so Im not really complaining (Ł89 quid
Ebay )

Ive spotted this add on Ebay for 2007 maps plus other things.

It clearly lists the iCN 550 amongst the compatible devices.

Is this add for something worth getting, or could I find the data on forums
or torrents anyway ?

It claims it can unlock the device and make it into a pocket PC. Does
anyone who knows about these things know whether an iCN550 can be tweaked
this way. I got it cheap but dont want to fry it by doing things to it that
its not desinged to do.....

Unlocking it to gain access to the WinCE back end is a simple process,
you can find the instructions on the web. The whole ad looks suss to
me and is almost certainly going to be a pirated satnav solution.

I wouldnt touch it with a bargepole.
