Dont get any reply from an author.

Have you tried to install via tools/application manager on N770.
I use MM on N800 and all works well

I installed it from one of the community repositories (maemo.org, the
2.0 free one I think), not from a web page, I dont know how the
package manager handles requirements but it installed without issue
for me.

It works fine, although its limited due to only working on bitmapped
maps with no routing, but I was watching it on a recent train journey,
downloading maps via my mobile phone and even using google earths
satellite images. Interesting if not as useful as a proper sat nav.

Check out http://www.internettablettalk.com/forums/ where I think you
will find folk are using it for routing via google maps I think.
I just use it with OSM as backdrop for capturing GPS traces

Cheers

If thats what I think it is, you need an internet connection to get
Google Maps to generate a route that then gets shown on the map, but
theres no actual routing capability in maemo mapper, and no ability
to reroute if you go off-route. Its basically a line on a bitmap
map.

Cant comment on that as I use TT for satnav and N800/MM for openstreets
capture.

Thanks Duncan,

I am sure, it works fine with N800.
Unfortunately my N770 cant find libraries upon installation of maemo-
mapper package.

John was so nice, to provide me with advice on how to proceed with the
installation.
Unfortunately, it doesnt work for me.
I have opened install file in notepad :

[install]
repo name = gregale-extras
repo deb = deb http://repository.maemo.org/extras gregale free non-
free
package = maemo-mapper

Opening it in N770 I get
Not found? OK
message.

Another link on download
and installation
I get message
Unable to install
Incompatible package.

Please tell me what I am doing wrong.
I use N770 not N800.

About product Nokia 770 ( N770)

Nokia 770 Internet Tablet
Internet Tablet OS 2006 edition
Version: 3.2006.49-2

Tried to update system but got message my system is the newest one.
What can I do next ?

I want to buy another N770 unit with successfully preinstalled maemo-
mapper,
new or used one.

Darius

To resolve dependencies that Maemo Mapper has, please install via the
gregale application repository, or use the .install file:

http://repository.maemo.org/extras/dists/gregale/install/maemo-mapper.install

If neither of those options work, then you can install sqlite3
manually via the following link:

http://repository.maemo.org/extras/pool/gregale/free/s/sqlite3/libsqlite3-0
3.3.5-0.2osso1 armel.deb
