The map updates cost as much as the producers believe the market will bear -
Ł50+ seems to be a general figure.
Annual updates seem to be the norm.
Different GPS manufacturers modify the source maps from third party
producers to make them specific to their device, thus tying the customer in
to one supplier.
Its not personal, its just business.
If you are that bothered about the cost, buy printed maps, you will save a
fortune in the long run, but they arent as much fun to play with.
