Are you asking two question here? If so, whats the difference
between them.

You can get updates, but they usually cost a fortune.

Yes two questions maybe I should have worded it the other way round. Ill
try again.
Is the Vauxhall vectra sat nav capable of camera location warnings and if so
how do I update it?
Hope that explains things better.

You are better off forgetting the built in satnav and buying one of the kind
that sticks to the windscreen & using that.
You can get a satnav from Maplin or from Amazon.co.uk or Halfords.

I have a tom tom 700 and to be honest the only thing I see that the built in
one lacks is speed camera locations but Im starting to wander if thats
necessary as they are all sign posted these days.It also recognises roads
the tom tom does not.

Speed camera signs can be posted in the vicinity of a speed camera and
not necessarily on the road where it is installed. In some towns you
will see speed camera signs on the majority of the roads even though
there may only be a few dozen cameras.

IMO the money erecting generic speed camera signs would be better spent
on signs reminding motorists of the speed limit on the road.

LOL, if only! The Vectra Nav Solution does not support custom POIs so
cannot use a Sopeed Camera Database. If your 700 lacks road dsata that
the vextra has then perhaps it has a newer map? You can update the map
on your 700 too and for considerable less than the map update for the
Vectra will cost.
