That comment is only partialy correct. Older generation GPS Receivers
had difficulty getting a fix in vehicles with Athermic coatings on the
windscreens designed to reduce reflection and heat.
Current generation receivers do not suffer this issue any more and that
includes TomTom ONE, all the GO X10s and many of the current Garmin
receivers.
At the lower end I would reccomend the TomTom ONE.
