our forces high spec GPS kit, a Garmin eTrex handheld out of the side
door of a helo!

It might have been if you could trust the UK gov. on this issue...

Was it just me who thought it was odd that the one woman captured was
filmed days prior to capture talking about knowing the risks ?!? -
someone in another thread mentioned the badge on her sleeve also not
tallying with any published Navy badges unless she was a seamstress for
a sailboat...

To be honest the same thing had crossed my mind too - and
Im not really into conspiracy theories.

But Im sure its more likely to be the result of a media
magnate with a stealth ship lurking in the Gulf looking for
headlines ;-)

Especially those that would have to involve the Iranian Foreign Minister
and Iranian TV.

I cant remember the exact wording but CNN quoted Blair on the matter as
saying the Iranian action was (something like) unjustified and wrong.
Thats from the man who took Britain to war in Iraq along with his pal
George W.

...and parading prisoners on camera is always wrong - unless it
happens to be someone you want to humiliate, like Saddam, or any of the
Guantanamo inmates.

As it is, theyre (with the exception of Saddam) probably the lucky ones
- shooting innocent kids after raping them is a US Army speciality.

Perhaps if theyd let the yanks seize them for extraordinary
rendition to a country that supported the use of torture during
questioning - and refused to sign up and be bound by any conventions on
war crimes - theyd be in a safer place... like Florida or New York.

Somewhere civilised, at least...
