Ok. So I have had this for a while. Three fugging annoying quirks

1. The speed cam db seems to be total tits. It seems to miss several cameras
and has some old ones in it still - it is definitely up to date, and
subscription active etc. The db is just tits.

2. Every time I drive to anywhere in North Manchester, it tries to send me
down Deansgate which is a traffic nightmare. Always gridlocked and you can
spend an hour or two doing the 2 miles end to end. It isnt a motorway so I
cant use the avoid-motorways option which is annoying. Any thoughts?

3. It keeps telling me to turn right at a junction that has been left turn
only for about 3 or 4 years. How do I ask them to fix this?

I believe you can correct this yourself by using the inbuilt software,
by reporting a new camera and reporting that an existing camera is no
longer there. Try looking on the plus services screen.

It cant tell without fail what the traffic is like, best thing to do
is to create itineraries that route you through a route that youd
prefer, then when you want to go to somewhere that will take you
through the area, load the itinerary with all the points on it marked
as waypoints, and just add your real destination on the end as a
destination. It will then guide you along your chosen route past the
Deansgate bit then on to your destination. Rather irritatingly you
cant reverse an itinerary so you then have to create another one in
the other direction! You can save them and reload though.

Id prefer it if theyd put in a user-definable avoid area, they
used to do this on their software before they became tomtom (cant
remember the name now) on the old Psion 5 series computers, no idea
why they dropped that idea. I used to put avoid areas in strategic
locations to correct one-way street mistakes, avoid traffic blackspots
etc.

Have a look on their support pages, theres a FAQ entry about this
somewhere, you can tell them theres an error there, and perhaps
sometime in the next 5 years it might get corrected!

Id like it if we could make certain changes, for example changing
one-way streets and putting in overrides. The road I am on is a
one-way street but the maps dont show that, theres a one-way street
in the local town thats not shown as one-way, just about any route I
plan it tries to take me down these two streets the wrong way, not a
problem as Im local of course so know to ignore it until I get out of
the area.

Tomtom 3 for the PDA had this feature.

They said that customers didnt want this feature and deleted it from
later versions of software, along with a few other useful features that
customers didnt want. This was about the same time as they released
their dumbed down Go units.

The problem with their avoids is that you either have to be actually
there already and on the road that the blockage is on, or you get the
option of avoiding an entire road/town or nothing at all. You dont
get an option of requesting to avoid a particular area or junction for
example.
