not quite sure of the difference between these and what i might need. I am
thinking of a 60Cx and would like street level detail as I walk around and
follow routes I have downloaded to the 60cx from anquet. I dont need turn
by turn navigation or anything - i just like to see streets/roads and if any
are close to any route I might be following. I used to use mapsend streets
on a magellan meridian that was ideal.

would obviously prefer the cheapest option that does what I need.

TIA

Jon

MetroGuide is much cheaper than City Navigator, and shows the exact same
details of streets etc.

MetroGuide does not officially support autorouting (turn by turn
navigation), so will just point you in a straight line to your
destination - if you want autorouting you are supposed to buy City Nav.
Note there are ways of making MetroGuide work with autorouting, but it
requires using unofficial software to load the maps.

I have a five year old copy of Metroguide and Ive downloaded the maps to a
GPSmap76C (that I bought a couple of months ago).

I have done nothing about software etc (except make sure the 76C has the
latest software from the Garmin website).

The 76C is autorouting fine with those maps (no speech though on the 76C
unless I buy a kit).
