the write-up on the tomtom site says
Speeding alert: Alerts you that youre speeding, even if youre not in
navigation mode.

does this work in all speed limit areas?

On the GO 910 this is a visual alert and only on roads that [they] have
marked the speed limits of. That means not all roads.

Its not exactly an alert. Where the enforced speed is known on the
map, when you exceed it the display flashes your current speed in red
above the maximum speed for the road. The speed itself is in a very
small type size and there is no other audible alert so its not exactly
a fail safe to avoid speeding.

They appear to have the speed data for every M and A road Ive tested it on.

TT cannot supply up to date maps that contain the major road changes for
the last 2 or 3 years - and probably 10 years for minor road
alterations/additions. How do they stand a chance of providing correct
limit information when speed limits change more frequently?

I can remember when i used to drive a citeron c3, it has an overspeed
warning sound, bloody thing drove me to death!
