Im using the i3 black mounting disc in my car. It gives me a problem
in that the black disc is shiny and reflects light which is
distracting whilst driving.

Anyone else noticed this and have a solution?

How about giving it a light rub with some sanding paper / wet and dry -
just to break up the reflective surface a little.

Brings tears to the eyes just thinking about it...

For many short local (and other) journeys I dont want to do that
because:

a - I dont need directions, and

b - I dont like to keep the unit on show while Im parked.(too
tempting)

So for many journeys its simply too much hassle to stick it on top
and keep having to remove it.

I wonder if that will compromise the suction capability?

Ahh, its a window-mount jobbie is it - thought it was a dashboard glued
item...

The affix it to the windscreen rather than using the disc?
