I just passed my 700 onto my daughter and bought a 910 - Id backed up
the 700 and i was hoping to restore the favourites back to the 910. Any
Ideas how to do that?

I did this when I upgraded from Go 300 to 700. Ive just carried ou
the same procedure from my Go 700 to 910 so it does work (have done i
3 times already & its worked every time). The ### refers to the olde
model your transferring the details FROM; the *** refers to the newe
model that your transferring the details TO.

!!! IMPORTANT- ENSURE YOU HAVE THE LATEST SOFTWARE/FIRMWARE VERSION AN
THAT YOU HAVE BACKED UP YOUR TOMTOM GO BEFORE CARRYING OUT THI
PROCEDURE !!!

1. Connect your Go ### to your pc, switch on and open up the relevan
maps folder you require to transfe
(Western Europe-Map/Great Britain-Map/etc).

2. COPY the Microsoft Office Outlook Configuration File (the one wit
the MS Office icon) to your desktop (or another folder - I named m
folder TomTom Transfer Files).

3. RENAME the copied file to EITHER Westen and Central Europe O
MapSettings (doesnt matter but I chose the former as itll sav
confusion if you decide to copy any North America favourites to your p
at some point in the future. Itll become clear later why the differen
file name doesnt matter).

4. SWITCH OFF and DISCONNECT the GO ### from the pc and CONNECT an
SWITCH ON the GO ***.

5. COPY and PASTE the renamed file into the Westen and Central Europ
folder.

6. SWITCH OFF and DISCONNECT the GO *** from the pc.

7. SWITCH ON the GO ***. DO NOT RUSH THIS STAGE AS IT MAY TAKE SOM
TIME FOR THE FAVOURITES TO UPDATE. Once up & running, navigate to you
Favourites menu and you should find that all your GO ### Favourites ar
now listed on the GO ***.

You can, if you wish, SWITCH OFF the GO *** and RECONNECT it to your p
and SWITCH ON. If you navigate back into the Westen and Central Europ
folder, youll see that the MS Office Configuration File has bee
renamed back to MapSettings. This is the name that the GO *10 serie
uses instead of Western Europe-Map/Great Britain-Map/etc and i
seems to update itself automatically at SWITCH-ON.

REMEMBER - If you decide to take the unit to North America and use i
there, all your favourites from that region will be stored in th
North America folder. If you have to transfer in the future
remember to pick the correct maps folder to copy into/from.

If it fails/freezes for a long time during the above procedure, you ca
always re-install the backup you made prior to updating the favourites.

Any problems (and successes!!), please let me know & Ill try to hel
further

We always advise not to use favourites for anything other than temporary
locations. Always save locations you want to keep to a custom POI group.
These can be easily backed up, copied and shared etc by copying the *.ov2
file located in the map folder (where * is the name you gave the custom
POI). Much simpler.
