Just got back from a trip to Exmouth.

We were following the A303 (heading for Stansted in Essex) and in the top
right hand corner TomTom Navigator (on an an Orange SPV M2000) quite rightly
showed that we needed the M3 next. In the bottom bar of the screen it
showed that we were on the A303.

We had just passed Stonehenge and came to a roundabout. At this point the
A303 changed from a single carriageway to a dual carriageway.

Jane told us to take the motorway. (no motorway in sight)

We took the A303 and TT carried on showing M3 in the top right hand corner
but the display on the bottom bar of the screen changed to say that we were
now on the M25!

Thinking it would sort itself out in a little while, we left it but it
carried on saying it was the M25 until we actually joined the M3 some 40 odd
miles later.

Why would it do this? Has anyone else driven this road and had the same
problem?

Cheers

Liz

Try the A1M south of Wetherby

I did that trip about 10 days ago and Tom Tom was telling me to turn right in
100
yards

I would have had a problem had I done so , there was a barrier for the next 5
miles or so

A mate has just had his window put through for the second time

When will he learn to remove the windscreen holder for his Tom Tom

I had something similar last week, just before joining a dual carriageway it
told us to turn right and join the motorway. In fact the motorway (M1) was
about 10 miles further on down the dual carriageway.

Didnt bother checking on the screen to see what it was saying though.

Yes - drive the A303 regularly. The map data doesnt treat the A303/M3
junction as such - not the most confusing mistake Ive seen in TT!

Any idea when TomTom are bringing out the new maps? They say second
quarter of 2006. Second quarter has now started. It would be helpful
if they would update this to a more informative description.

There are traffic restriction in Glasgow not reflected in the mapping.

Dont rush out and buy new TT maps assuming that the errors will be
corrected - it could take 2 years or longer for corrections to be made.
It may be worth letting someone else buy the maps and then ask on the
newsgroups if the areas you are interested in have been corrected.

Ive just upgraded from TT3 to TT5 and quite frankly, Im appalled at how
little improvement there is in the maps. I used a road today that has been
completed for over three years and the TT didnt recognize it!
